Female paramedic assaulted by group of men

A FEMALE paramedic has been attacked while working alone in Manoora, with police saying a glass bottle and a wheelie bin were thrown.

The ambulance officer was treating an unrelated person in Murray St when a group of men and women allegedly started making threats towards her.

She had attended the job without another officer by her side.

Police say a bottle was thrown at the ambulance and landed near the paramedic.

As she tried to get into the vehicle, a group allegedly surrounded her and started kicking the side of the ambulance while making threats of physical violence.

A man is accused of picking up a wheelie bin and throwing it at the ambulance as the paramedic tried to reverse out.

Police arrested two men for assault and two women for obstructing police after being called to the scene about 9.50am.

All four suspects are currently in the watch-house.
