Fishing, food and fun at Urangan Pier Festival

A FUN day of fishing, food, raffles, market stalls and entertainment marked the annual Fraser Lions Pier Festival at Urangan on Sunday.

The festival celebrates the Urangan Pier, which was built in 1917.

It was originally 1107m in length.

In 1986, demolition of the pier began before public outcry halted the process, leaving the pier at 868m long.
