Festive fun at Bay crafters’ fair

IT has been described as probably the best Christmas fair they have had in years, with people queuing up outside Hervey Bay RSL early Saturday morning.

It was certainly one organisers of the 15th Hervey Bay Crafters Annual Christmas Craft Fair can be proud of.

“It was absolutely fabulous,” said organiser Shirlee Dolman yesterday after the weekend fair wrapped up.

“We had lots and lots of people through.

“A lot of people went home with beaming smiles. It was very, very Christmassy.”

There were about 30 stalls showcasing their goods which included teddy bears, glittery butterflies, lavender satchels, quilts, paintings, embroidery, candles and woodwork.

The fair was all about getting into the festive spirit and starting your Christmas shopping early and Ms Dolman was surprised with how busy this year was.

“After all these years you would think people would get sick of us ... but people still keep coming; it’s just amazing.

“In the mornings you couldn’t move for all the people.”
