Fill your stocking locally instead of your fuel tank

FORGET driving to Brisbane to do your Christmas shopping - the real winners will be shopping locally this year.

You could be filling up stockings instead of your fuel tank by taking part in the Chronicle's Christmas Stocking Shop Local competition.

The prize pool has jackpotted to over $8500, and it is simple to enter.

By shopping at any of the 40-plus participating stores, you could be in the draw to win goodies such as meal vouchers, a barbecue from BBQs Galore Hervey Bay, or even a $300 gift voucher for Station Square.

Look for the Chronicle Christmas Stocking poster displayed at participating stores, buy any item, fill out the competition coupon and drop it in the entry box in each participating store.

More than 22,000 entries were received last year.

Entries close at 5pm on Wednesday, December 19.
