Fine for verbal abuse, obstructing police and drug utensils

A MAN who verbally abused an old woman in public before obstructing police and then being found in possession of drug utensils has been fined in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Jeanette Grigoris said Jaime John Brook was arrested for public nuisance on March 7 in Torquay, after police found him yelling and swearing at an elderly woman in a driveway.

Brook then became aggressive with police, before the officers later found a bong in his apartment, Snr Const Grigoris said.

Brook pleaded guilty to all offences and was fined $800.
