Firefighters battle Granville house blaze on Wednesday

A GRANVILLE house was completely ablaze when Maryborough fire crews arrived to fight it at 11.20pm on Wednesday.

Station officer Andrew Madders said two fire appliances had the flames under control within an hour but the house had already been significantly damaged.

He said the low-set timber house in Ross St was not occupied at the time of the fire.

"There are no indications at this time to say what started the fire," Mr Madders said.

"A fire investigator will come up from Gympie today to try to determine the cause of the fire."
