Firefighters put out Bruce Hwy blaze

FIREFIGHTERS put out big grass fire at Torbanlea next to the Bruce Hwy yesterday afternoon.

Multiple Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) crews were required at the scene of the fire at the intersection Bruce Hwy and River Road.

Firefighters undertook burning operations to contain the fire and bring it under control.

Residents who suffer from or are susceptible to respiratory illness were advised to remain indoors and keep their doors and windows shut.
