Monster blue and black marlin biting near Fraser

THE fishing in Hervey Bay and outside is as good as it gets anywhere in the world.

Where else can you counter 1000 lb black marlin in the same water as 1000 lb blue marlin?

Club boats last weekend tagged 18 small black marlin between Triangles to Rooney's.

Trailer boats are having fun with the marlin in shallow water.

Fishing onboard the boat 'Rampage', president of Australia Game Fishing Association Doug Sanderson caught a couple of marlin in very shallow water.

Three local boats fishing ran out of tags for bill fish, with another boat running up to give them more tags.

Three boats fishing outside Fraser Island using heavy tackle are meeting monster blue and black marlin.

With just over a week to go everything is looking good for another great tournament.

Next Thursday at Hervey's On the Bay will be the 11am briefing.

If anyone would like to come down and check out the boats in the comp you are more than welcome.

There are raffles and local skippers will give talks about the area and where the fish are.

The boats will return on November 15 in the afternoon.
