Footage of vandals given to police

FOOTAGE of vandals ripping bollards and lights out of the ground on a recently renovated section of Richmond Street in Maryborough has been given to police.

The vandals were captured on video from a closed circuit television surveillance camera operated by the Fraser Coast Regional Council.

A group of 10 youths can be seen walking down Richmond Street at 2.30am.

The council spent $4 million on the refurbishment of the Maryborough CBD which was finished in November.

It costs the council more than $100,000 a year to clean up after vandals.
