M'boro and Bay cafes dig into pockets to help the homeless

FOUR Fraser Coast cafes will donate $1 from every coffee sold on Friday to help end homelessness.

The annual Cafe Smart drive will see Janet's Art Books, Sexie Coffie in Maryborough and Mary Ryan's and Creations Cafe in Hervey Bay help to raise money to go to local homelessness programs.

Janet's Art Books owner Janet Revill said the cafe would be taking part for the second year in a row.

"We're hoping to get as much support as possible to raise as much money as possible," Mrs Revill said.

"People don't realise how lucky they are."

Money raised will go to Fraser Coast programs such as the Homelessness Community Action Plan in Hervey Bay.

Last year's event raised about $2500 for the Fraser Coast.
