Four major council projects open for tender this month

FOUR major projects across the Fraser Coast are open for tender from the council for the rest of the month.

The sale of land in Maryborough, bitumen reseals all over the region, security of council properties and roadworks for the Urraween Distributor will all be open for companies to bid until early November.

The Urraween Distributor will connect Main St and Bay Dr in Hervey Bay, and will be good news for motorists who use the busy roundabout on Main St and Boat Harbour Dr.

The distributor is designed to ease some of the traffic congestion at this intersection, which has been the scene of numerous crashes over the years.

The work in this tender will consist of bulk earthworks, street works, trunk drainage, water main, retaining walls and the laying of service conduits for future traffic lights and street lighting.

A council property on Alice St in Maryborough is also subject of a tender, for the lease or sale of the land.

The tender for security services on council-owned properties across the region include patrols and guard duties.

The final tender is for bitumen reseals of existing roads at various locations all over the Fraser Coast.

All four tenders close on November 8.
