Franchise enquiries to RFG up by 120%

MORE people are looking to secure their employment and financial future in 2010 and they are turning to proven franchise systems to do it.

Retail Food Group (RFG) has recorded a 120% spike in enquiries from potential franchisees during the past fortnight.

RFG owns the Donut King, Michel's Patisserie, Brumby's Bakeries and bb's cafe franchise systems and has recently acquired the Big Dad's Pies and DCM Coffee & Donuts franchise systems.

RFG national sales co-ordination manager Faith Manning said the franchise enquiry line has been running hot since after Christmas 2009.

“Compared to the same period 12 months ago, our enquiries are up 120% during the past two weeks which has been really surprising,” she said.

“It seems people have worked hard through 2009, had a Christmas break and have taken that time to reconsider their future finances and employment.

“The enquiries have come from people across Australia and are usually couples aged 30 years and over.

“Following the uncertainty of 2009 and the Global Financial Crisis, it seems many couples are looking to take control of their future and their finances by owning their own small business.

“However at the same time they want to minimise risk by looking at proven and growing franchise systems.”

Donut King has more than 327 outlets nationally; Michel's Patisserie has 337 outlets; Brumby's Bakeries has 331 while bb's cafe has 60 outlets across Australia and New Zealand.
