Fraser Coast high schools to get $8 million from Qld Budget

FRASER Coast high schools will receive more than $8 million as part of this year's budget to prepare for Year 7 moving into high school.

Maryborough MP Anne Maddern said Aldridge State High School would receive $1 million for new classrooms, with construction expected to start this year.

She said the Fraser Coast construction industry would benefit from the project.

Hervey Bay High School will also receive more than $5 million in the next financial year as it expands to accommodate Year 7s.

Hervey Bay MP Ted Sorensen said about $15 million would be given to the school to expand during the next two years.

Urangan State High School has also received $3.2 million in this year's budget.
