Fraser Coast's winter heaven as we avoid big freeze

WHILE Toowoomba experienced a freezing morning, the sun is shining on the Fraser Coast and tomorrow is expected to get slightly cooler with a low of five degrees.

According to weatherzone.com.au, overnight temperatures dropped to eight degrees in Hervey Bay on Tuesday morning, with the maximum set to reach 21 degrees.

But we can expect a warmer weekend, with temps creeping up to highs of 23 and 24 degrees and minimums in the double digits.

Maryborough's coolest day this week is Thursday with minimums dropping to six degrees.

The temperature dropped to 4.3 degrees at 5.30am in Toowoomba this morning but the windchill was making it much colder.

At 2.30am the apparent temperature dropped to -0.4 degrees.
