Frizell injures ribs, Origin spot in danger

NSW Blues lock Tyson Frizell's Origin spot is in jeopardy after injuring his ribs in St George Illawarra's 16-12 win over Wests Tigers on Saturday.

Frizell was taken to hospital for scans because of fears of a possible fracture.

Frizell was solid in the Blues' 28-4 series-opening win over Queensland, with 83 run metres and 30 tackles.

It is the second time this season the 25-year-old has suffered a game-ending rib injury.

He was also taken from the field against Manly in April, but did not miss any matches.

If Frizell is ruled out, it could open the door for either of his Dragons' teammates Jack de Belin or Paul Vaughan to be brought into the NSW side.
