APN’S NRL team of the week: Round 3

APN's NRL team of the week

FULLBACK: Matt Moylan (Penrith): Was playing just his 16th NRL game but showed nerves of steel to nail the match-winner against the Bulldogs.

WINGER: Brett Morris (Dragons): Scored his 100th try and then produced an amazing aerial effort to score number 101 with every part of body right except his right hand over the sideline.

CENTRE: Steve Matai (Manly): Extremely damaging and aggressive and involved himself with 25 touches for a power 143m game. He lifted Manly several times as Parramatta kept coming.

CENTRE: Will Chambers (Storm): Heavily involved in a tough contest with a triple double of 137m, 16 runs and 12 tackles. Very strong, always dangerous.

WINGER: Semi Radradra (Parramatta): This powerful Fijian flier put in yet another robust performance for the Eels and added to his building try tally.

FIVE-EIGHTH: James Maloney (Roosters): Edged out Gareth Widdop with his all-round display in the Roosters' come-from-behind win over Brisbane.

HALFBACK: Ben Hunt (Brisbane): Produced his best game in the No.7 for Brisbane with two tries. What was more impressive was how he ran the show until the Roosters stormed back late.

PROP: Corey Parker (Brisbane): Renowned for his high work-rate, Parker was in the thick of things with 33 runs and 32 tackles and 130m in a very physical forward battle against the Roosters.

HOOKER: Cameron Smith (Storm): No need to say a lot other than without him, Melbourne would have been in serious trouble against a gritty Knights. His dummy-half try and composure won the game.

PROP: Aaron Woods (Tigers): (Pictured) Huge game up front in the face of some heavy intimidation from Sam Burgess and co. Didn't take a backward step.

SECOND-ROW: Sam Burgess (Souths): Has been flying close to the wind but you can't ignore his contribution of 143m tough, hard metres and 35 tackles.

SECOND-ROW: Boyd Cordner (Roosters): Gets the nod over Warrior Jason Bukuya for his late try to get the Roosters home in a thriller. Few forwards run lines as good as this fellow.

LOCK: Nate Myles (Titans): Wonderful effort after being criticised the previous week with 21 runs and 58 tackles. Also carved out more than 100m.
