Fun at the Australian Body Art Carnivale next weekend

Australian Body Art Carnivale

If you're looking for an exciting and colourful event to cheer you up, head to Eumundi next weekend. The Australian Body Art Carnivale will thrill and amaze. The event is held yearly and is an eye-popping display.

I went last year and had a wonderful time photographing the event.

There were painted bodies everywhere, decorated with artistic representations of Australian mammals, reptiles and birdlife to delicate wildflowers. Some bodies and faces were painted with fantasy landscapes, while others were tributes to ANZAC soldiers, swagmen and flying doctors.

Last year, I showed up on the last day of the festival, with the intention of taking a quick look. I loved it so much, I ended up staying the entire day.

The Australian Body Art Carnivale has a programme of activities, which include face painting, body art, wearable art and car bonnet art. There will be market stalls, activities for the kids, music and street performers.
