Fundraising rock concert at Brolga during Youth Week
MARYBOROUGH-born-and-bred country soloist Wal Neilsen will be in the line-up supporting Mecha Mecha at a Youth Week rock concert at the Brolga Theatre.
The free concert starts at 6.30pm on Thursday, April 16.
Funds raised by donations and pledges on the night will go to help child victims of Cyclone Pam in Vanuatu.
For the five-piece band Mecha Mecha, the gig will be the finale of an eight-week tour of Queensland performing concerts, pub gigs and conducting workshops.
The Purple Hills will also support the band on the Riverside stage.
The concert will be a fun opportunity for the whole Fraser Coast community to celebrate National Youth Week and help Australian volunteer-run aid agency, Jump Start Foundation to rebuild Isangel School in Vanuatu.
As part of Fraser Coast Youth Week events, Mecha Mecha will also conduct two free workshops for musically-inclined young people at the Brolga Theatre on Tuesday, April 14, at 10am and 3pm.
For more information and bookings for the workshops, phone Mecha Mecha bass-player Hayden Marshall on 0434 802 680.
