Thieves target restaurant again

GATAKERS Landing restaurant has once again been targeted by night-time thieves.

The Pt Vernon business has fallen victim to a spate of break-ins in the past year, which has left staff members frustrated.

In the latest attack, a window was smashed and the offenders reached in and removed two bottles of spirits from the bar area.

They also stole four cartons of soft drink from the rear of the premises on Monday night.

Scenes of crime officers attended and dusted for fingerprints.

Senior Constable Jules Tyson of Hervey Bay police said a car was broken into near the beachside restaurant that same night.

Fishing gear had been stolen from the vehicle, he said.

Anyone who has information on these crimes should call police on 4123 8111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
