Support the Great Endeavour Rally

PETER Morrison is an expert at road trips and the Tinnanbar retiree is putting his driving skills to work this year by entering the Great Endeavour Rally.

Peter and his son Steven, from Nambour, will travel from Burleigh Heads to Bargara in their trusty 1976 Holden ute, taking a few detours along the way to raise money for the Endeavour Foundation.

The two men are already preparing for the trip, making sure the ute is in top form and trying to rustle up donations among their local communities.

“A lot of the places we go are really suited to four-wheel drives so the car really has to be reliable and strong,” Mr Morrison said.

“I’ve done about a dozen rallies before and it’s a lot of fun and a very social event.”

About 200 people are taking part in this year’s rally in July.

Contestants will traverse 3500km of roads in northern NSW and south-east Qld.

Last year $400,000 was raised for the Endeavour Foundation, which supports people with a disability.
