Get head and car into gear

A TINANA man who lost control of his car on a dirt road and then abused the driver he almost hit has faced the Maryborough Magistrates Court.

Thomas James Malouf was driving along Walker Avenue, Tinana, on August 17 when he failed to negotiate a bend in the road.

He swerved and was headed towards an oncoming motorist, who braked heavily to avoid a crash.

The 29-year-old cane farmer then deliberately stopped his car in the path of the other driver and got out to argue with the man.

Malouf pleaded guilty to dangerous driving.

Magistrate John Smith said Malouf’s behaviour was totally inappropriate.

“He needs to get his head into gear, just like he needs to get his car into gear,” Mr Smith said.

Malouf was fined $750 and disqualified from driving for six months.
