Croquet club needs your business

CROQUET: Wanted: A business willing to get in the swing of things.

Point Lookout Croquet Club’s annual inter-business challenge is on again and co-ordinator Rhonda Lang has one spot she needs to fill.

The Fraser Coast Chronicle goes into this year’s tournament as defending champions after mallet-wielding journalists stormed home to claim the perpetual trophy last year.

The challenge runs every Sunday for five weeks from February 28 with each team getting one week off for a bye.

Two players, although not necessarily the same two each week, make up the teams.

Matches will kick off at 1.30pm, last about an hour and cost $10 per team per game – or $40 for the tournament.

Players must wear flat-soled shoes, and afternoon tea and equipment is provided.

Point Lookout Croquet Club, one of the state’s oldest, is at 23 North Street, Maryborough.

If your business would like to take part phone Rhonda Lang on 4122 4014 or email rhonda.lang@optusnet.com.au.
