Get the inside run on the next big shows on the box

MARRIED at First Sight is gone, My Kitchen Rules is "resting" and the traditional Easter ratings break continues before we'll get a taste of MasterChef.

The Logies on Sunday, April 23 will signal game-on again and, as usual, networks Nine, Seven and Ten will roll out more reality TV staples.

The two biggest non-sports shows on TV so far this year have been Nine's MAFS and Seven's MKR, so it's not surprising more of the same will lead the list of what's to come. Expect romance, food, the eternal search for Australia's best voice and reno obsessives to dominate.

MISERY LOVES COMPANY: The massive success of MAFS - it became the first show in years to put a dent in the formerly invincible MKR - has paved the way for a reality romance stand-off between the networks.

Seven has moved to steal the march by launching Seven Year Switch on Monday, ahead of the Logies, with Nine yet to announce a date for The Last Resort. They're hoping for a ratings bonanza.

FOOD FIGHT: The return of MasterChef post-Easter can't come soon enough for Ten, which was left with a reality-sized gap in its early evening schedule after the failed The Biggest Loser: Transformed was mercifully punted from prime time to daytime slots.

In recent years MasterChef has maintained a back-to-basics approach, eschewing bickering contestants to focus on food, and it's a recipe the franchise will stick with.

BOY BOOSTS THE VOICE: It's supposed to be about the new talent, but we all know the pull of the celebrity mentors is what first brings viewers to The Voice. Nine's new season mentor line-up is already getting the thumbs-up, thanks to a high-rotation promo featuring Boy George, Kelly Rowlands, Seal and Delta Goodrem belting out John Farnham's The Voice.

DRAMA IN THE HOUSE: The test of whether Australia's love affair with biopics can be sustained will come when Nine unveils the two-part House of Bond after the Logies. Starring Ben Mingay, the telemovie is a dramatised account of the rise and fall of the late tycoon Alan Bond.

Another season of perennial favourite Offspring is waiting in the wings for Ten, and Nine will debut a new season of its popular Love Child, starring sole female Gold Logie nominee Jessica Marais.
