Ghost Hill will close for roadworks, detours in place

MAIN St over Ghost Hill will be closed for 16 weeks from Tuesday when roadworks start.

SGQ Civil has been awarded the $2 million contract to rebuild the 800-metre section of road.

Up to 700mm will be shaved from the top of the hill and the road raised by a metre in the ditch at the bottom of the hill.

Retaining walls will also be built to protect the powerpoles holding up the main power supply into the city.

Traffic will be able to detour around the roadworks site using Urraween Rd to Madsen Rd.
