Hope not lost for gold locket ‘missing’ for a decade

A BRISBANE woman is hoping a forgotten treasure can find its way home.

A gold locket with what appears to be photos of a couple inside it has been in Glenys Hume's possession for more than 10 years after it was handed in to her at the Tinana Post Office at its former location in Tinana Place Shopping Centre.

Ms Hume said the locket was in a small zip lock bag when it was handed in.

"I tried to find the owner to no avail," she said.

At the time Ms Hume also rang all the jewellers in Maryborough, to see if they had put photos into a locket, however she did not have any luck with that either.

Ms Hume has since moved down to Brisbane, where she has been for nearly eight years.

"I have kept the locket with me hoping I may be able to return it to its rightful owner," she said.

"I am sure someone must know the couple inside."

If you know who the locket belongs to, give the Chronicle a call on 4120 1053.
