Golf enthusiasts wanted at Craignish

THE Craignish Golf Club has put a call out to the community seeking new members and sponsorships for their 2018 golfing year.

Treasurer Veronica Miller said it cost more than $100 a day to host the weekly golf competitions and they would love to see their club grow in the new year.

"We would love to get some new sponsors," Ms Miller said.

"We have got some very good sponsors, who have been with us for years and it would just be nice to get some new ones.

"The club holds weekly golf competitions and competitors vie for prizes in various games throughout the year.

"The Craignish Golf Club is a non-profit organisation and is a vital social and sporting organisation within the local community.

"Sponsorship from businesses will greatly assist in the continuance of weekly competitions for the Craignish Golf Club in 2018."

Ms Miller said they were eager to welcome some new members to their friendly group and encouraged people to "come and try" over the Christmas break.

"We finish our golfing year on December 9, that's our break up day and then over Christmas we play, but it's more a social thing," she said.

"If they'd like to come out, Christmas is a great time to come out to try and they can decide if they want to become members.

"We start the official year again at the end of January."

Membership costs $280 for the year, plus $80 insurance and sponsorship starts at $100.
