Goodbye Hervey Bay payphone handset, hello $400 fine

A MAN who broke a Telstra payphone in Hervey Bay has been fined $400.

Damian Robert O'Neil pleaded guilty in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court to a public nuisance offence, after he smashed the handset of the payphone on April 12 while drunk.

Magistrate Graham Hillan did not record a conviction due to O'Neil's, lack of prior offences.
