MCDONALD'S Urangan will celebrate its grand opening on Friday 18 December followed by a weekend full of Family Fun activities including free face painting and balloon art performances.

The new restaurant will include a McCafe, an air-conditioned play land, an outdoor dining area, modern booth seating and Create Your Taste kiosks.

Customers will be able to build their own gourmet chicken or beef burgers, selecting from a range of 30 premium ingredients on digital kiosks from the McDonald's Create Your Taste menu.

McDonald's Urangan Licensee Craig Manley said the new restaurant would employ more than 80 crew members from the local area to the fill the positions of Create Your Taste hosts and chefs, McCafé baristas, managers and floor and kitchen crew.

"I am proud that the opening of McDonald's Urangan will help create jobs for local residents and provide fantastic growth opportunities for new trainees," he said.

"We are excited to welcome local residents to participate in our grand opening celebrations and I look forward to meeting Urangan locals this weekend."

Urangan locals are invited to get their faces painted on Friday 18 December between 5pm and 8pm, and on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December between 10am and 3pm, and 5pm and 8pm.

The celebrations will also include special visits from The Balloon Crew who will perform balloon art on Saturday 19 December between 10am and 2pm and Sunday 20 December between 10am and 2pm.
