Granny uses her bra to smuggle drugs to her son in jail

A FRASER Coast grandmother used her bra to smuggle drugs to her son in Maryborough Correctional Centre, the Hervey Bay District Court heard on Monday.

Rosalie Anne Pannett, 61, pleaded guilty to suppling a dangerous drug and giving a prohibited item to a prisoner.

Pannett smuggled five tablets of the narcotic suboxone along with a cigarette lighter, tobacco and papers into the prison in her bra before handing them to her son.

Judge Helen Bowskill sentenced Pannett to nine months in prison with the sentence wholly suspended for two years.
