Granville Bridge reopened after much effort

EMEGENCY crews and volunteers achieved a clean-up milestone late on Thursday with the Granville Bridge reopened to traffic.

It had been feared locals would be isolated for some time after the bridge was inundated during the recent Maryborough flood.

Fraser Coast Mayor Gerard O'Connell said workers had since ensured the structure was safe and had opened it to pedestrians and vehicles.

Cr O'Connell said he would like to commend the team of workers who got the bridge operational.
