Grassfire burns near Tiaro

FIREFIGHTERS spent all afternoon battling a large grass fire in Tiaro that has created a large smoke haze.

The fire was burning near Titmarsh Rd, Tiaro Rd and Gundiah Rd just south of Tiaro.

Queensland Fire and Rescue said no property was is under threat but warned residents who suffer from respiratory illness to remain indoors.

More than five fire crews responded to the incident, including establishing fire breaks, backburning and strengthening containment lines.

Residents are advised to phone 000 immediately if they are concerned their property is under threat from a grassfire.
