Greatest fish and chips in Oz?
HOWARD Country Style Milk Bar is pitting itself against hundreds of other fish and chips outlets across the country as it vies for the title of Australia’s best fish and chips shop for 2010.
The store is entering Crisco Australia’s annual competition and hopes to prove what many people around the Fraser Coast already know – Howard makes some of the most delicious fish and chips in the land.
Store owner Stephen Cameron is calling on the Fraser Coast to get behind his business as it competes for the title – and he reckons the store has what it takes to win.
Mr Cameron has owned the store for 20 years and reckons his fish and chips must be good because people keep coming back.
“We’ve got the best fish and chips in the country, no doubt about that,” he said. “Now we just need the locals to get behind us and cast their vote.
“We have many loyal customers who give us great feedback about our product all the time.
“We’re asking them to go the extra mile, grab a voting card in-store and lodge their vote online.”
Customers can vote for Howard Country Style Milk Bar at www.bestfishnchips.com.au from March 1 to April 30.
All voters go in the running to win a holiday to Fiji for two, valued at up to $5000, as well as hundreds of instant prizes including barbecue sets, Bill Granger Holiday cookbooks, eskies and picnic rugs.
Donelle Jones, Crisco Oil’s national marketing manager, said fish and chips was an iconic part of Australian culture and deserved to be celebrated.
“The competition is a great vehicle for local businesses to build their profile and be recognised for their fantastic food and great customer service.”
‘We have many loyal customers who give us great feedback.’
