Rain overnight but grey skies on Friday expected to clear

ABOUT 25mm of rain was dumped on Maryborough overnight with Hervey Bay receiving 12.6mm, according to the Bureau of Meteorology's measurements taken from 9am on Thursday until 7am on Friday.

Scattered showers about the coast, clearing northwards during the morning are forecast for the Wide Bay Burnett district for Friday.

The bureau predicts Isolated showers inland, mainly during the afternoon. 

Hervey Bay is heading for a high of 27 degrees while Maryborough is expceted to hit 29 degrees.

The forecast for Hervey Bay waters is for south-to-south-east winds, 20-25 knots, decreasing to 15 to 20 knots in the evening.

The bureau expects seas of 2m decreasing to 1.5m in the evening.
