Gymnasts show off their skills

THE GIRLS that regularly train under Hervey Bay PCYC gymnastics instructor Stacey Parsons all have one thing in common – they are all hugely talented.

The three girls, Phoebe Irwin, Jess Smith and Sara Calleja, were keen to show their abilities on the various pieces of equipment, including the balance beam, parallel bars and on the floor.

Next year the girls will have even more room to practice their moves when they move into a new building on the grounds of the PCYC.

On Thursday, however, it was all about demonstrating how to use the equipment that they have become so competent on. The girls were more than happy to show off the skills that have developed over years of practice while Parsons gave patient instruction and sometimes demonstrations of the different moves she wanted them to attempt.

The girls will also hold a grand opening for their new building when school goes back and are hoping to put on a big display to showcase their skills and celebrate having their own purpose-built building.
