Gympie cubs are enjoying Maryborough adventure

CUBS from the Nashville Scout Group are at Maryborough Showgrounds this week for six adventure-filled days at Cuboree 2014 - Time of Legends.

From across Queensland, 920 cubs are sharing an experience to remember until Friday.

The Cuboree has activities that highlight the Cub Scout Award Scheme, which will challenge and inspire the cubs as they move through each activity.

These activities include:

  •  Gone Fishin' - environmental, scientific, discovery.
  •  Time Travel - circus, construction, bushcraft, fossicking.
  •  Trail Blazers - navigation, construction
  •  Valley of Legends - fitness, never give in, challenges.

Other offsite activities give the chance for cubs to go whale-watching

The Queensland Cuboree is held every two years.

Cuboree is a great way for cubs to have fun and friendship with other cubs from around Queensland.

Nashville Scout Group meets every Friday, 7-9pm, during school terms and gives children between the ages of 6 1/2 and 26 the opportunity to develop a love of the outdoors, survival skills and learning how to get along with others.

It is a night of fun games, craft and construction, indoor and outdoor activities, camps, community service, team-building skills, domestic skills and cultural activities.
