Hands up for apprenticeships

SCHOOL students and young people on the Fraser Coast are being encouraged by the State Government to put their hand up for a building apprenticeship with QBuild.

There are 100 apprenticeships available; 65 will be available outside the Brisbane metropolitan area.

There will also be 15 school-based apprenticeships where students will spend three days at school, one day at TAFE and one day a week with QBuild. Once Year 12 is finished the school leavers can start full-time.

Some of the trades on offer include carpentry, plumbing and painting.

Applications close on November 16. Candidates will be contacted before Christmas; interviews will start in January.
