Renegades could recall Hauritz for Big Bash League game
IF NATHAN Hauritz is included in Melbourne Renegades' starting XI tonight it could give the mid-table side an extra edge.
The Renegades host Sydney Sixers at Etihad Stadium tonight in their second match of the season, and a win will ensure they remain undefeated.
Hervey Bay product Hauritz was omitted from the side that enjoyed a seven-wicket season-opening win over Brisbane Heat on Saturday.
Fellow spinner Xavier Doherty finished with 2-29 from his four overs.
A two-pronged spin attack would not be out of place at Etihad given how the tweakers have dominated the Big Bash League's fifth season so far.
Renegades coach David Saker also floated the idea of recalling Hauritz given Sixers' power hitter Nic Maddinson is left-handed.
Maddinson has scored 28 runs from his two innings so far and is overdue for a big score, though Hauritz's off-spinners could prove to be Maddinson's weakness.
His inclusion would also put him against the competition's leading wicket-taker Nathan Lyon, who has six scalps from his first two outings.
