HERVEY Bay's international cricketer Nathan Hauritz will play in the first Masters Champions League.

Hauritz was picked up for US $20,000 in the inaugural MCL auction overnight, and will line up in the UAE-hosted competition for Sagittarius Scorpions.

He will play alongside Sri Lankan gun Mahela Jayawardene, New Zealand's Daniel Vettori and former Australian wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist.

Former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis attracted the highest bid (US $175,000) with Gilchrist a close second ($170,000).
