TRIATHLON: Hauser wins three Qld titles on the run

HERVEY Bay's Matt Hauser wrapped up his last secondary schools representative competition the only way he knows how: with a big win.

Hauser's final 16/17yrs boys 3000m race at Brisbane's Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre shared startling similarities to his race at Chicago's World Triathlon Championships earlier this year.

The whole competition was stopped for about half-an- hour due to a storm, though the extra 30 minutes did not affect the Australian representative.

Hauser stormed home to win his third consecutive 3000m title for Wide Bay.

With only weeks left in high school, he leaves with two state 3000m records and seven state caps in triathlon and cross country.

Hauser and the rest of Hervey Bay's triathlon community are into the final weeks of their preparation for the Hervey Bay 100, which will be held on November 21-22. More at http://www.hb100.com.au.
