Nominations open for youth council
FRASER Coast youths have been urged to nominate for the YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament and have their say in the future running of the state.
“The youth parliament is a chance for youths to tell the politicians what is important and make a difference,” Fraser Coast Mayor Mick Kruger said.
The YMCA Youth Parliament places youths aged 15 to 25 as members of parliament – representing the youth of their community, debating and speaking in parliament, lobbying for new policies, changing laws and creating new ones.
One young person will be selected to represent each of Qld’s 89 electorates.
To download a nomination form or to find out more head to www.ymcaqyp.org.
Nominations close at 5pm on Friday, February 26.
