Help give sick kids McHappiness on Saturday

MARYBOROUGH McDonalds will be raising money for sick children all day tomorrow for McHappy Day.

From 5am onwards, $2 from every Big Mac sold will go towards Ronald McDonald House.

Don't miss out on kids face painting plus arts and crafts from 10.30am until 2pm.

Be serenaded by Hardings House band with Jazz and Blues from noon.

Organiser Zoe Shipp said the money raised this year would go into building a bigger house in Brisbane.

"At the moment they're turning away 14 families a day so it's pretty important," Zoe said.

"The new house will be able to take in many more families."

She said the store had a goal of $8,000.

"We want to beat our record of $7,500 which we earned in 2013," she said.

"We raised the most money in Australia that year."

So far the store has raised more than $2,000

Member for Maryborough Bruce Saunders will be behind the counter, serving burgers and raising funds to make some unwell children feel a little better.

Maryborough McDonalds is on the corner of Alice and Ferry St.
