THE region's junior netball stars will converge on Hervey Bay for the Wide Bay Regional Carnival.

More than 300 netballers from Mundubbera, Monto, Kingaroy, Gayndah will join rep teams from Fraser Coast's two associations for the carnival, which will start at 8am tomorrow.

Hervey Bay Netball Association president Eddie Anderson said it would be a busy, but important, weekend for the juniors.

Not only is it the first of two regional carnivals, but it serves as a warm-up for July's State Age Carnival at Pine Rivers.

"We've got 33 teams so that means about 300 to 350 players competing from under-11s through to U15s,” Anderson said.

"Hopefully this rain clears and we'll have a successful day.”

The carnival will only be affected by rain if the court becomes unsafe. Games will run from 8am to 4pm.

The second regional carnival will be held at Gayndah on July 31.
