Hervey Bay misses out on Jamie Oliver pop-up kitchen

HERVEY Bay has lost its bid to host Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food pop-up kitchen.

Jamie Oliver announced South Australia's Colonnades Shopping Centre and the City of Onkaparinga as the winning location of the kitchen.

The competition received an amazing 170 applications from all over Australia, with more than 1100 letters of support, 15,000 signatures on petitions and 30,000 likes on Facebook. Applications were reviewed and assessed by an advisory panel.

Finalists from each state and territory were flown to Sydney for the big announcement, made at a special Ministry of Food event, Kitchen Talk with Jamie, at Carriageworks in Eveleigh on Sunday.
