Hervey Bay side set for the Goodchild Shield

CRICKET: Three of the top six wicket-takers in the Fraser Coast A Grade 40 Over competition will lead Hervey Bay's attack in this weekend's Goodchild Shield games.

Hervey Bay will face the best from Maryborough, Gympie, Bundaberg and South Burnett in the two-day carnival at Maryborough Cricket Club. Each side will play four Twenty20 games each, with one bye.

Hervey Bay is comprised of players from league leaders Bushrangers and Cavaliers.

Bushrangers duo Zubair Khan and Nic Kelsey have taken seven and four wickets each to date, while Cavaliers weapon Luke McCully has four.

All three, plus Bushrangers pair Brent Firth-Meldrum and Jason Riley and Cavaliers duo Josh Lenton and Luke Wells, make for a strong and diverse bowling attack.
