Holiday win brings the NZ, Tassie maps out

ROBYN Emmerson and her partner Wayne Burton have long dreamed of going on holiday to Tasmania and a trip to New Zealand sounds pretty appealing too.

That is why the Urangan couple were thrilled to find out they were runners-up in the Chronicle's Choose Your Own Holiday competition.

Run across the The Morning Bulletin, Gladstone Observer, News Mail, Daily Mercury and Fraser Coast Chronicle, a Rockhampton reader claimed the $15,000 main prize.

But five other readers won a consolation prize, which will be travel vouchers to the value of $2000.

Ms Emmerson said she never thought she would claim a prize in the competition.

She and her partner of 22 years have only been on one holiday during their relationship, when they travelled to Ireland and England two years ago.

Now they were busy planning whether it would be Tasmania or New Zealand that they would visit with their prize voucher, Ms Emmerson said.

"This will be our next big holiday," Ms Emmerson said.

The winner of the main prize was Rockhampton mum Jody Fernie, who is planning to take her family on a holiday to Disneyland.

"It's something we have been saving up to do, so this is just amazing news for us."

Ms Fernie said the family planned to take the holiday early next year.
