Hoons tear up Hervey Bay car parks

A HOON driver has had his vehicle impounded after he was caught doing burnouts in a shopping centre car park in Hervey Bay.

The Holden Commodore was impounded for 48 hours and the driver charged with wilfully making unnecessary noise and smoke.

The incident comes less than 24 hours after a teenager was fined for a similar offence.

The driver of the Commodore was located in the car park at Stockland shopping centre, on Boat Harbour Dr, Pialba, about 9.20am on Tuesday.

His vehicle was seized by police and he was ordered to appear in court.

On Monday afternoon, a 17-year-old was seen doing doughnuts in the carpark at Dan Murphy's bottle shop, also on Boat Harbour Dr at Pialba.

He was issued with an infringement notice for failing to have proper control of his vehicle.
