Horse killed by car after falling from float on highway

A HORSE has died after falling from its float and being hit by a car on the Bruce Highway on Friday night.

The left lane of the highway at the Caboolture turn-off, exit 152, was closed after the crash, which happened about 8.15pm.

It is understood the horse was in a float travelling northbound when it fell out.

The car directly behind it swerved out of the way but the animal was struck by another car and died.

Police said a motorcyclist also crashed due to the incident.

No other injuries were reported.
