PICTURE this: After a night of partying in Hervey Bay, you're starving but everything within walking distance is closed...

Sounds familiar?

Well it won't be anymore, because now there's a food van that visits Hervey Bay's only nightclub.

Mongrel Hotdogs has started making appearances on Saturdays outside Smokenleather on the Esplande in Torquay.

Selling hot dogs and riblets, operator Rob Braddock said he has stayed out until 3am to feed the crowd.

"It has been fantastic; people come back and buy two/three hot dogs cause they love them so much," Mr Braddock said.

"From the well-being point of view, after drinking people need to get something into their belly before they get home."

He starts serving customers from 9.30pm and stays open as late as necessary.

Mr Braddock said vegetarian options are coming soon.

So far, there have been no food fights.
