READER'S VIEW: How are CEO million dollar pays justified?
I WOULD like to know who set the CEO of Australia Post a salary package of $4.8million and how this can be justified. Other salaries also need to be reviewed. The top 10 executives combined receive approximately $20million annually.
The CEO of Australia Post, Ahmed Fahour, gave $2million to the Islamic Museum of Australia in Melbourne. This donation was tax deductible.
The amendments to Australia Post are at the wrong end of the spectrum. Chopping nine of the 10 executives from the payroll instead of raising postage charges to $1 would encourage the continued use of this service.
A brief glance at national and international salaries will reveal the mongering of the Australian CEO. Top federal public servants receive $665,600 to $844,800; the Prime Minister, approximately $507,000; the US Postal Service CEO $550,000, in France $1.1million.
Compare the difference.
