Huawei goes big but sleek with new MateBook X Pro

WHEN you go big in new technology, it usually comes with compromise, but not in the case of Huawei's new MateBook X Pro.
Described as the world's first full-view touchscreen notebook, it was revealed in Barcelona on the eve of Mobile World Congress at the company's Global Product Launch.
It comes with a 14-inch screen with a 91 per cent screen to body ratio and a 178-degree viewing angle range.
The power button doubles as a fingerprint scanner, which allows users to power up and log into Windows in just eight seconds.
And in perhaps a first for notebook technology, the MateBook X Pro comes with a recessed camera that hides under a key in the top row of the keyboard.
"Ultra slim, ultra-sleek, but with no compromise on performance," was the key message from consumer business group CEO Richard Yu at the launch.
He described the MatreBook X Pro as one of the lightest and most powerful notebooks on the market.
At the Global Product Launch, Huawei also unveiled its MediaPad M5 series.
